Idaho, Emily Ruskovich, Random House
Very good adult literary. Told by several different voices, this is the story of a murder and a tragedy and their impact on an isolated Idaho family and the people around them.
Ann, Wade’s second wife, is fascinated by the scant information she knows about Jenny, Wade’s first wife, and his two children. The tragedy they were caught up in hovers over her marriage and fascinates her, although Wade chooses not to wallow in the past. As Wade gradually loses his memory to early onset dementia, Ann brings together a series of fragmented stories to attempt to understand the event and its impact on her own life.
Beautiful storytelling and strong characterization make this a story that will linger in your mind long after reading.
