Historical Fact in Fiction

9780544639683The Last Confession of Thomas Hawkins, Antony Hodgson, Houghton Mifflin Hardcourt, out now – Review by Larry

An excellent historical novel about a true crime committed during the region of George II and Queen Caroline.  The novel is followed by comments on the reality of the tale.  The writing reminded me of Tom Jones for about half the book and it remained written as one would write a novel of the period.  A first class read of intrigue and suspense and a very interesting way to write about a historical true crime.
